Social Program

Being a virtual conference it can be tough to engage with all the presenters and visitors, yet with a team of students we created a program for all participants that aims to make this conferences as fun and engaging as possible. We are very much looking forward to meeting you at our coffee tables, doing some sports together and are especially awaiting you at our virtual pub night on Thursday with games and drinks.

Pub night

Do you want to get to know your fellow coral reef scientists and share some fun experiences, before the conference is over? Then you shouldn’t miss the virtual pub night on Thursday!
As an alternative for the traditional conference dinner, this year’s main social event will include an open mic session, a quiz night, games that can be played in small groups, as well as karaoke for those who seek the extra thrill. Start is at 6:30 p.m. (CEST).
Don’t forget to prepare yourself some drinks and snacks, and check out the conference bar for cocktail recipes.

Thanks to DEEPWAVE, we will host this event in a virtual reality format to gain a more interactive experience. Guests will have their own avatar which can be moved through an animated room to interact with other guests.

Coffee tables

During our daily virtual “coffee tables”, you can meet new people while relaxing and having lunch (or breakfast, or dinner, depending where you are). You can discuss the latest presentation or find some topics to talk about on our interactive blackboards. To use these, please sign up at Padlet. You can join and leave the session at any time during the lunch breaks
